2018 - Domaine Anne Gros Bourgogne Rouge Hautes Cotes de Nuits

An interesting note of pepper can be found on the ripe but fresh nose of red and dark pinot fruit that is suffused with subtle sauvage nuances. There is exceptionally good richness to the middle weight flavors and especially so for a wine from the Hautes Côtes, all wrapped in a relatively firm but only mildly rustic finale.

The 2018 Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Rouge was taken directly from tank. It offers cranberry and wild strawberry notes on the nose, which is clean and fresh if slightly rustic in style. The palate is medium-bodied with quite rigid tannins and nicely defined, but it shows some attenuation toward the finish. Hopefully it will gain some weight by the time of bottling.
