2018 - Domaine Anne Gros Bourgogne Rouge Pinot Noir
- Drinking Window:
- 86-89 BH; 86-88 NM
The 2018 Bourgogne Rouge is quite deep in color compared to its peers. It has a more cohesive, refined bouquet than Gros’s Hautes-Côtes, the brambly red fruit mingling with light sous-bois scents. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy tannins, good acidity and refreshing salinity toward the finish. Fine.
A slightly riper array is comprised by notes of darker fruit scents along with hints of earth and underbrush. Here too there is fine richness to the round and velvet-textured medium weight flavors that terminate in firmer and more rustic but more complex finale. This is a robust Bourgogne that is worth checking out.
