2018 - Le Serre Nuove dell' Ornellaia

The 2018 Le Serre Nuove shows the restrained style of the year in its nuanced personality. Sweet floral and spice notes add perfume to this super-expressive Serre Nuove. Dark red cherry, plum, rose petal, mint and mocha are nicely delineated throughout. In some recent vintages, Serre Nuove has leaned towards the more exuberant side of things. I have to say, I like this more moderate expression very much. The 2018 is shaping up to be a jewel of a wine.
